Fall ’23 Class Offerings
Fall classes will be held on Tuesdays 9/19/2023 – 11/7/2023. Classes are held at Trinity Church, 3355 Dunckel Rd, Lansing, MI 48911.
This is NOT a drop-off program, children need to be accompanied by an adult and that adult is to stay in the building or on the grounds while the child is in class.
Please review the DICE Member Handbook prior to registering.
Orientation
New this year! Because of the growth we’ve experienced, and moving to a new space, we wanted an opportunity to go over everything members need to know about participating in classes and be available to answer any questions. We are encouraging all members to attend an in-person orientation on 8/22/2023 from 5 pm – 8 pm. Details can be found in this post.
Registration
Our Registration is a tiered system.
- Teachers are allowed to register beginning 8/18
- Those making a significant volunteer commitment (details about this are listed in this post) are allowed to register at orientation on 8/22.
- Open registration is 8/29/2023 – 9/15/2023.
- We will still allow registrations after 9/15/2023 with teacher permission. This allows our teachers to have time to properly prepare for their class and we want to make sure any last minute additions are communicated directly to them. The registration page will be very similar to this one in look and feel, and there will be links to register listed with each class.
Waitlist
If a class is full, please still register for it. You will have the option to be put on a waitlist. Please do this so we are able to notify you if a spot opens up and to let us know how popular a class is so that we can try to offer it at a different time or keep on the schedule to run again in a future term. Enrollment can be a flowing process, so please be patient!
Lunch Hour
Lunch will be held in rooms 162/163/164 (they combine into one room) from 12:00 – 1:00 pm. The refrigerator and microwave in the kitchen are available for use. The gym is NOT to be used by DICE from 12:00 – 2:00 pm. Kids are welcome to go outside with their designated adult during the lunch hour. During bad weather, the gameroom can be used for extra space after the kids have finished eating their lunch, again with accompanied by their designated adult.
Financial Assistance
Financial Assistance is available to those families experiencing economic hardship. Applications will be accepted through August 17, 2023 To submit your application online go to: DICE Financial Assistance Online Application. To download the pdf application go to: DICE Financial Assistance PDF Application.
FAQ
What if my child falls outside the age range but I would still like to register them? Age Ranges listed are recommendations, if you feel like your child would be a good fit for the class please reach out to the teacher (click their name and it links to their email) to get permission to join and email info@dicemichigan.org and request an override to complete registration.
Can my child’s therapist join them in class? We are supportive of accommodating everyone as much as we can. Please reach out to the teacher for each class to get permission (click their name and it links to their email). There are times when the additional therapy occurring during class is disruptive to the rest of the class so we want to be sure that the Teacher, Parent, and Therapist are in direct communication to ensure a smooth class for everyone involved.
