Teaching Assistant Responsibilities

This role’s main responsibility is to assist the teacher in the classroom.  Teachers may request assistance with specific tasks depending on the style of class and age group. General expectations include:

• Helps maintain positive classroom environment 
• Escorts kids to the bathroom and drinking fountain as needed (kids 8 and under) 
• Assists with monitoring door to ensure kids do not leave the classroom during class period unless escorted by teacher, teacher assistant, or hall monitor and at the end of class until designated adult is present (applies for kids 8 and under) 
• Report any concerns to TA Lead or Class Organizer 
• This role requires a background check to be completed.
