Winter 2023 Classes @ Foster Community Center

Winter classes will be held on Tuesdays 1/17/23 – 3/7/23. Classes are held at the Foster Community Center, 200 N Foster Ave, Lansing, MI 48912.

This is NOT a drop-off program, children under the age of 16 need to be accompanied by an adult and that adult is to stay in the building or on the grounds while the child is in class.

**Note about Covid: We received a lot of questions last year asking about mask requirements. We follow all legal mandates as required by the City of Lansing. Currently, the City does not require additional precautions like masking. Please read the DICE Rules and Guidelines for Foster Community Center for more information.

Registration

Registration will be open 1/3/23 – 1/15/23. We will still allow registrations after 1/15/23 with teacher permission. This allows our teachers to have a day to properly prepare for their class and we want to make sure any last minute additions are communicated directly to them. The registration page will be very similar to this one in look and feel, and there will be links to register listed with each class. Additional registration instructions will be included when we open up registration.

Waitlists

If a class is full, you will have the option to be put on a waitlist. Please do this so we are able to notify you if a spot opens up. Enrollment is a flowing process, so please be patient! Once a spot fills we work with parents to add extra volunteers to open up class capacity whenever we are able. You may enroll for a different class in the same time period and transfer your registration if your waitlist spot opens up. For example, a teacher may have a max capacity of 6 students but may go up to 16 with two teaching assistants. If a teaching assistant hasn’t been assigned to the class, we will reach out to parents on the waitlist to see if they want to assist in order to open up the additional capacity available.

Financial Assistance

Financial Assistance is available to those families experiencing economic hardship. Applications will be accepted through December 28, 2022. To submit your application online go to: DICE Financial Assistance Online Application To download the pdf application go to: DICE Financial Assistance PDF Application

FAQ

What if my child falls outside the age range but I would still like to register them? Age Ranges listed are recommendations, if you feel like your child would be a good fit for the class please reach out to the teacher (click their name and it links to their email) to get permission to join and email info@dicemichigan.org and request an override to complete registration.

Can my child’s therapist join them in class? We are supportive of accommodating everyone as much as we can. Please reach out to the teacher for each class to get permission (click their name and it links to their email). There are times when the additional therapy occurring during class is disruptive to the rest of the class so we want to be sure that the Teacher, Parent, and Therapist are in direct communication to ensure a smooth class for everyone involved.

Questions?

Please email info@dicemichigan.org with any questions.
